    Short Term Aftercare

Your eyes will need some protection whilst they heal.

We'll provide you with some goggles or a protective shield to prevent you from rubbing your eyes whilst you sleep - you'll need to wear these for up to a few weeks.

Dryness of the eyes may occour and is a common effect of many eye surgery treatments, so to ease any discomfort and aid the healing process you'll often be prescribed and given some lubricating to help the healing process until it is complete.

Getting your life back to normal.

After 24 short hours it's common (dependant on the type of treatment) that you will notice and enjoy a considerable improvment in your vision. The majority of VIP Patients who undergo laser eye surgery, for example, find they are able to drive once more and return to work after just two days.

We do recommend that you refrain from wearing any make-up for around a week, that you avoid any smokey places or areas where dust is particularly present and avoid swimming for three weeks.

    Long Term Aftercare

Comprehensive aftercare comes as standard when you choose VIP.

With VIP aftercare isn't an after thought and with that in mind, VIP Partners ensure all patients receive a tailored and professional aftercare service to support their post operative recovery.

Regular check-ups will be scheduled for patients as part of their treatment plan to monitor the effects of their treatments and to ensure optimal results from their elected treatment.

The first check usually takes place the day after treatment and then a week, followed by increasing intervals until you are discharged from your VIP Clinicians care.

Naturally once you initial aftercare period has ended, it's still important to attend regular eye examinations with your Optician to monitor the health of your eyes and for your continued visual care.

All aftercare programmes are tailored to each patient and the treatment they have elected for and may differ from what is described here to ensure you get the right level of clinical and personal care.
